This type of aid is not a physical amount that is paid into users’ accounts, but rather it is a virtual card that users must use to make purchases related to cultural products.
However, it must be taken into account that not all establishments accept this payment system, so, before making the purchase, it is important to check if it is compatible with this voucher, since, otherwise, we will have to pay it with our own money.
Requirements of the Young Culture Bonus 2024
The requirements for the Young Culture Bonus 2024 have not changed since this aid program for young people was launched. To be eligible to request this bonus you must comply two requirements. The first and most important of all is to be Spanish or have a legal residence in Spain. The nationality does not matter, the most important thing is to have legal and accredited residence in Spain.
The second requirement to be able to request this help is turn 18 in 2024. This bonus is only available to all young people who turn 18 between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. If we turned 18 on December 31, 2023, the cultural bonus that we should have requested was that corresponding to 2023.
If we meet them on January 1, 2025, we will have to wait until June 2025 to request it, as long as the Government of Spain continues to offer this aid to the youngest people.
How to request it
So that the number of young people who can take advantage of this aid is higher than in previous years, the methods for them to apply for it have been expanded. The fastest and easiest method that also invites us not to leave home or wait in lines is to use the digital certificate or the Cl@ve system and wait to receive a confirmation via email.
The second method is to go to a post office with a certificate of registration and a photocopy of the ID. There we must request the corresponding form and wait for the resolution, a resolution that can take up to 3 months to arrive.
When to request the Young Cultural Bonus 2024
At this time, applications cannot be submitted yet. It will be at the beginning of June, like other years, when the registration period opens. If you don’t want to wait 3 months of the maximum period that the Ministry of Culture has to respond, it is advisable to be one of the first to request it. Once granted, we have up to one year to spend the 400 euros of the bonus. If we don’t spend it, after one yearthe available balance will no longer be available.
What you can spend the 2024 Young Cultural Bonus on
As we have indicated above, the 2024 Young Cultural Bonus can only be spent on the establishments and entities associated with the program. Furthermore, it is important to note that we cannot dedicate the entire amount to a single purpose, that is, to buy video games, books, concerts, since we must diversify in the following way:
- 100 euros at most in digital products (video games, streaming platforms, books in digital format, music in digital format and so on).
- 100 euros at most in press, books, reviews, DVDs and CDs.
- 200 euros at most in concerts, cinema, theaters, museums, exhibitions and in general, everything related to performing arts and cultural heritage.
What is not included
As absurd as it may seem, this cultural bonus does not allow you to buy curricular textbooks (which are not exactly cheap). It also does not allow you to buy musical instruments, hardware, computer consumables, software and more. As if the computer were not an indispensable tool in the daily life of any student.
