Being a more than usual form of communication, it is important to think twice about what we want to say since, once sent, we completely lose control over it since anyone can forward it or even download it. While it is true that WhatsApp offers a grace period to delete sent messages, once elapsed they cannot be deleted in any way.
If they have sent us an audio, of any type, and we want to save it on the PC so that we can have it whenever we want without having to go to WhatsApp, the first thing we must be clear about is that we cannot do it directly from the mobile phone.
The only thing we can do from the WhatsApp mobile application is resend the filea way that also allows you to save it in the same place, especially if we use the library function that this application includes by sending us the files.
How to download WhatsApp audios
As we mentioned above, we cannot carry out this process from the WhatsApp application for iOS and Android. To be able to do it, we can use the WhatsApp application for Windows or use WhatsApp Web, the latter being the best option, as long as we do not have the need to use this application on our PC daily.
To configure WhatsApp Web on the PC, we are going to use any browser by visiting the following link (we can also use a tablet by opening the page as a Desktop, not as a web version, which is what it shows by default). Next, we open the WhatsApp application on our mobile phone and access the options menu Linked devices and we choose the option Pair a device.
Seconds later, WhatsApp will load in the browser, with all the chats that we have open in the application. All content received or sent from the WhatsApp application will be displayed here. The same thing happens if we start using this web version to send or receive messages, since these will also be reflected on the mobile.
For download an audio message of WhatsApp, we must go to the chat where it is located. Next, click on the down arrow that appears next to the message so that all the available options are shown and where we must choose Discharge.
The audio message includes the exact date and time it was sent, not the date we downloaded it. The file format is .ogg. Although it is true that it is not a very popular and well-known format, Windows is capable of playing it without problems, so it will not be necessary to install an additional player to listen to it.
If we need to convert it to MP3, we can use this website that allows us to carry out the process for free and without any limits. We can also carry out this process with the VLC or Audacity application if we do not want to depend on a website to carry out the process, since we really do not know if the website will keep the audio or if, as they say, it deletes it from its servers once downloaded.
