Several large technology companies are focusing much of their efforts on develop the best AI. To do this, they are updating their different language models and thus compete face to face with the competition. The recent launch that Amazon has just made with its proposal called Claude 3.5 Sonnet serves as a clear example of all this.
We talk about a language model which its developers define as the most powerful currently, far surpassing its most direct competition in performance. When we refer to Claude 3.5 Sonnet from the Anthropic firm, we are talking about its latest, most powerful model, for now. Bedrock, the AWS service that allows testing AI models, has been launched on Amazon.
One of the most striking sections of this presentation is that in its advertisement Anthropic boasts that the Claude 3.5 Sonnet is more intelligent and profitable than its predecessor. He announces that he even surpasses Claude 3 Opus, taking into account that to date it was the most powerful model available on the market. Here we are referring to a language model that excels in tasks such as creative writing, image processing or complex workflows, among others. It also presents applications for multiple sectors.
This is a model that is launched on the market to compete head to head with the most powerful to date, as has been common in recent months by many companies.
Claude 3.5 Sonnet is the highest performing AI
What’s more, the Amazon-backed company claims that the Claude 3.5 Sonnet outperforms recently introduced models like OpenAI’s GPT-4o or Google’s Gemini 1.5 Pro. These statements are made based on a series of tests and evaluations to which he has subjected the Artificial intelligence. In this specific case we are referring to tests related to reasoning at the graduate level, knowledge at the undergraduate level and coding ability.
Not only this, these tests at the same time show that Claude 3.5 Sonnet also runs at twice the speed of its predecessor, Claude 3 Opus. For companies this can mean significant cost savings.
In parallel, the language model also releases Artifacts. This allows users to interact with AI generated content directly within the application itself.
This is but another example of the efforts that some of the big technology companies are carrying out to lead the AI sector. All of this benefits users who will be able to use increasingly powerful and versatile models capable of generate automatic content of higher quality. Furthermore, we must keep in mind that this is just the beginning, since these technologies are expected to go much further, something that some also fear.
