For a few years now, the web browser that we use on our computers has become an essential software element. In most cases we use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox. But whatever our choice, we must configure its operation in the most correct way.

And we must take into consideration that most of these applications that help us move around the Internet store a huge amount of data about their users. At least by default, although we can always customize this depending on our needs or preferences.

Here we talk about elements as important as markersbrowsing history, cookies or passwords. In fact, in these same lines we want to focus on this last section so related to security when using these browsers. Above all for convenience, many prefer that their own browser store these passwords to have them automatically available when you need them on certain websites.

But it may happen that this feature, so useful on many occasions, simply does not work. Precisely for this reason, below we are going to tell you how to activate the corresponding function in the most important browsers. In this way we ensure that the program automatically stores the passwords that we use when browsing and they are available to us in future sessions.

Activate the passwords feature in Chrome

First of all, we are going to focus on the google browser, which is precisely the most used throughout the globe. And it may happen that we notice that, for whatever reason, it does not store the passwords that we use when moving around the Internet. We must take into consideration that we must implement a specific function for all of this.

To achieve what we are telling you, we open the program configuration window and go to the section called Autocomplete and passwords. Next we click on Google Password Manager / Configuration, where we will have the opportunity to activate this function that we told you about.

Make Edge save your passwords automatically

The same thing happens if we focus on the browser that Microsoft provides us and which is also based on the Chromium project. As in the previous case, here we also have to activate a specific functionality to make the program store our passwords as we use them when browsing.

In this specific case, and once we are in the Edge configuration window, we click on the Profiles section in the left panel of the window. Next we go to Passwords / Configuration where we can activate or deactivate this functionality that we mentioned.

Set Firefox to save passwords

And finally, we are going to talk about the third in contention, the proposal to move around the Internet offered by the Mozilla firm. Specifically, now we are going to focus on the popular proposal called Firefox which I’m sure many of you use. Likewise, it has a specific function that allows us to activate or deactivate the automatic storage of these security elements.

In this case everything is as simple as accessing your settings page and click on the Privacy & Security section. Now, in the right panel, the function we are looking for appears so that passwords are automatically saved or not in the browser.
