We say this because among the many options that we can choose in this regard, Google’s proposal is the most used without a doubt. It has enormous market penetration despite the complaints that many constantly publish. Among these we can highlight the high resource consumption carried out by the application as such, due to the little privacy it provides us by default.
As we told you, there are many other alternatives, among which we can highlight Firefox or Microsoft Edge. However, despite everything, the majority choose Chrome. It is a program that is already configured by default so that we can take full advantage of all its functions. But as it could not be otherwise, at the same time it offers us a multitude of customizable parameters to configure it to our liking.
Now we are going to talk to you about a small problem that we may encounter when using Chrome. And it may happen that at the moment in which we prepare to perform searches, the browser does not do it through the powerful and well-known Google. At first we may think that some type of virus has been installed on our computer and is harming the functioning of Chrome, but in reality this is not the case.
If you encounter this problem when using the google browser, the solution is much simpler than you may think at first. Let’s see how to use the powerful search engine by default.
Change Chrome search engine
At this point, the first thing we must keep in mind is that, as happens in most browsers, Chrome offers us several possibilities to use as default search engine. Despite being a project owned by Google, we have the possibility of using other engines for these tasks.
Precisely from there comes the problem we face and that we have mentioned before. It may happen that for some reason this search engine has been modified and that is why our queries are not carried out through Google. Therefore, to make this change initially, we only have to access the configuration page of the program itself.
We find this in the main menu of the browser, and once on the screen, in the left panel we find several categories. In the case at hand we will have to click on the one that says Search, which will allow us to establish the default search engine in Chrome.
In the right panel we now find a drop-down list with several supported options where we can choose the one that interests us the most, in this case, Google. From that moment on, all the queries and searches that we do here will be carried out through that specific search engine.
